"You reap what you sow"
If you plant apple seeds, eventually you will reap apples. You can’t plant watermelon seeds and expect an apple tree to sprout out of the ground. It’s the same thing with our actions, words and thoughts: what you “put in” is what you’ll get out. This includes the people whose counsel you seek, what you watch on TV and the music you listen to. Stop telling yourself “it’s just a song, it won’t affect me” because IT WILL, thanks to a little thing called the sub-conscious!
There were times in the past when I also had the same mentality and I told myself it was just a song and it would never affect me and that I could listen to whatever I wanted to listen to and it’d never affected me, until I could sing all the words of a particular song from a to z, without even thinking about it… a song that I had probably only heard once or twice.
On the subject of music, ever noticed how certain songs evoke a certain behavior in you? Ha, I have seen some girls going BUCK wild when certain songs come on… and I mean WILD… at the same time, ever noticed how people act a certain way when Hillsong for example is playing.? So clearly music influences SOMETHING in our behaviour.
The brain is a powerful muscle and a silent worker. You don’t always feel or hear it processing information or at work, but it works so much more than you can imagine. For example, I have been driving for close to 5 years now and when I decide to go somewhere, it do not consciously say:
"Right! Now I’m going to sit in the car, fasten my belt, stick the key in the ignition and turn it, shift gears, turn of the handbrake" etc.
It happens almost without me even thinking about it. So often I arrive somewhere and wonder how I got there – SUBCONSCIOUS in action!
There’s SO much poison in the world lately, especially in the media. Sin is available pretty much at the click of a button. You have to have a very fine filter for your mind. You can tell yourself you will not be affected but it’s like having a mud fight and expecting not to get any mud on you.Be a
ware that things aren’t always as they seem. Don’t just look at things a face value, but look beyond them.
Actions do speak louder than words and what may seem like a meaningless action today, one day YOU WILL REAP. Every action, word and thought is a seed, and like a seed, if cultivated, it’ll sprout, grow and have it’s being in your life.
Don’t sow watermelon seeds expecting apple trees.

::22::
So, today I am officially 22 and a day!
How does it feel? Funny enough I actually FEEL older and it feels good.
I feel the frivolousness of my youth has died,
The care-free attitude of an adolescent has gone with the wind.
I feel a huge amount of responsibility resting on my shoulders, because I am no longer a girl, or a "chick" but developing into the fullness of a woman.
BUT, above all, I feel a huge amount of GRATITUDE; that I have "clocked" another year and I have more and more opportunities to be the best me I can be!
Growing up is actually quite exciting. The feeling of being that much closer to LIVING your dreams... being closer to reaching your destiny and fulfilling your purpose, it's all so exciting!
BUT:
Life doesn't get any easier the higher up the age scale you go! The road here hasn't been easy;
Pain, passion,
Hurt, betrayal,
Sorrow, joy,
Surprise, suspense,
Fear, awe,
Accomplishment, achievement,
Been through them all.
AND: I am STILL STANDING.
So as I enter into another phase in my life, I need His guidance. Psalm 25:4 is where it's at for me and in Him I will trust.

R.E.L.E.A.S.E

What happens when you take a sealed can of Coke, shake it, drop it, stomp on it, drop it again and THEN open it immediately?
I think we all know what will happen; a rather... small, but BIG explosion!
The way we as humans operate is similar to a Coke can. Full of feelings, emotions and a whole lot of other stuff. We often keep those things sealed in or bottled up. We are dropped, shaken, sometimes stomped on, increasing the pressure inside us...THEN...one day, someone decides to "open" us just like the Coke can and ALL HELL BREAKS loose.
Ever wondered why even the strongest, most confident and secure people just CRACK? It's usually because of a lack of a release; a way to let it all out.
God never intended for us to be alone, suffer in silence or build up stress and pressure inside us. That is why God created Eve to be a mate for Adam, that's why we have families, and that's why we are surrounded by BILLIONS of other people in the world and are in direct contact with hundreds if not thousands of people in our lives(unless you are a nomad of course!).
A problem shared, is a problem halved after all. Don't let feelings build up inside. Before the pressure gets too much, find somebody you can "release" to. Cry, shout, scream if you have to, just don't keep it in only to explode like the Coke can one day!

Not me, but the GOD in me

D.I.V.A...
D.ivinely
I.nspired
V.ictoriously
A.nointed
When will you see that what you see ain't me, but the God in me,
That I am able to do all things because He strengthens me?
I'm just a mere pawn on His colossal chessboard,
Day in, day out living to glorify my Lord.
He takes my imperfections and flaws and uses them to perfect His strength.
When I'm too frail, "whew" He blows in His Holy breath.
I'm not the female version of a hustler, but His DIVA;
Inspired by His Divinity, Victorious in all things because of His Anointing.
All of this didn't just fall from the sky,
It didn't land here overnight in the blink of an eye.
It took time, love, patience, and most of all, GRACE,
Wouldn't be where I'm at if I was walking at my own pace.
His blessings shouldn't end with me like a no-through road,
He's the source and I am the channel, the channel through which they should flow.
So when you see the spring in my step, the twinkle in my eye,
Remember: It ain't me, but the God in me.

God asleep on the job???

If GOD is GOOD. And GOOD things come to those wait. And all GOOD things come from God, WHY do people like settling for the not-so-good that clearly doesn't come from God?
Why are people in rush to get what takes time to perfect? Patience is a virtue. The Bible talks about those who WAIT ON THE LORD lacking NO GOOD thing. It doesn't say you will lack no thing but NO GOOD THING.
When God created the Earth, He WAITED until the 6th day to create man. Man is not only good, but PERFECT (created in His image) but also flawed. But even with all of man's flaws, man is still GOOD in God's eyes.
Just because you don't yet see the physical manifestations of what you've asked God for doesn't mean He has fallen asleep on the job. It probably just means He is taking what you asked for from okay to GOOD and pleasing to Him.
"How long you're willing to wait for something determines the value of what you're waiting for."
