SAVOUR the Season

savour (verb)

Pronunciation:/ˈseɪvə/

enjoy or appreciate (something) to the full, by lingering over it.

Just as winter turns into spring, and spring into summer, so are the seasons of our lives. As cold as winter can be, it helps us to truly appreciate the warmth of the sun when it starts getting warmer. We all go through seasons: difficult ones, joyous ones, “stagnant” ones but the key is SAVOURING each season you go through.

When you go through trials don’t wallow in self pity, but instead take ALL you can from the challenge. Use it to empower you to be better, stronger and more resilient in the future. God does not promise us that trials will never come because we are Christians, but He does promise that we WILL overcome.

When you go through bouts of happiness and EUPHORIA soak yourself in the goodness of it all, but ensure that you remember these moments when you’re down in the dumps. Misery loves company and when you're sad it seems like misery calls all his buddies, aunts and cousins to make everything seem worse than it is and we tend to forget what He had brought us through and the happy times we once had.

Many people move from season to season without even noticing that the season has changed. Too busy wallowing in the ‘misery ‘ and gloom of winter, they hardly flinch when the warmth of the Sun’s rays begin to peep through in spring. I know, it's not easy to "enjoy" the slumps we go through, but never leave a season without a lesson, otherwise the season would have been a waste. Take ALL you can from all the things you go through, but also, be conscious of what season you are in and make sure you do what needs to done in that season. No use trying to reap when it's time to plant.

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven.”
Ecclesiastes 3:1

  1. AMEN!
May we be like the men of Isaachar who
"knew (and understood) the times...and were able to decide what course was best for Israel..."

    1st Chronicles 1:32.

    Bless you Tash!
